2023 Soccer Summer Camp

The Southwest Virginia Homeschool Conquerors would like to invite  your son and/or daughter to the 2023 Instructional Soccer Camp.  The Conquerors’ Camp is an instructional program designed for players of all abilities, ages 5-18, homeschooled or not, who desire development of fundamental soccer skills. The camp will be conducted  by Conquerors Coaches and Varsity players and will strive to create an environment that promotes soccer confidence, enjoyment and good sportsmanship.   

Features of the Soccer Camp:  *Ability and age appropriate instruction  *Instruction in individual soccer techniques and team tactics  including, but not limited to: dribbling, turns, shooting, passing, trapping, movement development and introduction to small group concepts.  *Instructional, theme-based, small-sided games and scrimmages  each day.   Merriman Park: 6657 Merriman Rd. Camp Times and Cost:  June 19th-22rd from 6:00-8:00pm.  Cost is $50 per camper, with a $150 family cap of 4 or more children  of the same immediate family.  

About The Southwest Homeschool Athletic Academy:  Southwest Virginia Homeschool Athletic Academy is an interdenominational  Christian sports organization serving homeschooled students in the Roanoke Valley. The Conquerors were created in the fall of 2000 to provide opportunities for homeschooled students to compete on a competitive interscholastic level. Middle school and varsity  level teams participate in soccer, basketball, cross country, swimming, girls volleyball and girls softball.

Important  Information Before Camp Starts:    

1. Each player needs a soccer ball, water bottle, shin guards, and soccer cleats.     
2. It is preferred that each player have an age specific sized ball. Ages 5-7 should  have a size 3. Ages 8-12 should have a size 4 ball. Ages 13-18 should have a size 5 ball.     
3. Each player needs a parent signed waiver before the start of camp, complete with  proof of health insurance. Waiver is below.    
4. Each player should have camp fees paid before the start of camp. If you have not  yet paid your camp fees, you can by following the below Link.     
5. Each player needs to arrive at camp between 5:40 and 5:50pm each night. We will  start camp promptly each night at 6:00 pm.     
6. Camp will be held at Merriman Park: 6657 Merriman Rd. Roanoke VA 24018 
7. Parents are welcome to stay and watch from the sidelines, but are welcome to drop  off and return by 8:00 pm each night for pick up.
